Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers made a hilarious joke on the Pat McAfee show when talking about Lions head coach Dan Campbell.
Over the past year, NFL fans have gotten to know Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the most candid manner: as the featured headliner on The Pat McAfee Show’s weekly segment, “Aaron Rodgers Tuesday.”
On the NFL off day, the veteran quarterback joins friends and former NFL players Pat McAfee and A.J. Hawk to discuss his thoughts in exclusive, light-hearted interviews.
This week, Rodgers did not disappoint, making a sly reference to Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell’s now-infamous press conference quote from earlier this year.
Aaron Rodgers on Lions and Dan Campbell: “Probably need to wear some knee pads…”
Upon his arrival in Detroit, Dan Campbell made a bold statement when describing how he would build a new Lions team that would “take on the identity of the city.”
“So, this team is going to be built on, we’re going to kick you in the teeth. And when you punch us back, we’re going to smile at you. And when you knock us down, we’re going to get up. And on the way up, we’re going to bite a kneecap off. And we’re going to stand up and then it’s going to take two more shots to knock us down. And on the way up, we’re going to take your other kneecap. And we’re going to get up and then it’s going to take three shots to get us down. And when we do, we’re gonna take another hunk out of you. Before long, we’re going to be the last one standing. That’s going to be the mentality.”
McAfee has been enjoying the Campbell area, nicknaming the head coach “MCDC”, which is short for “Motor City Dan Campbell.”

Come Sunday, Packers and Lions fans could see the self-described “knocker” of wood rap his knuckles for good luck against the 10.5 point favorites.
